  • NEF Upcoming Events

The Nektar Employee Foundation (NEF) was established in 2001 with a gift from Nektar Therapeutics. Today it is an independent, non-profit organization sustained by employee contributions, matching Nektar contributions and other fundraising activities. The Foundation's goal is to give something back to the communities where Nektar employees live and work. This is done in one of two ways:

• Grants to local 501(c)(3) organizations for specific projects that employees support or volunteer with.
• Matching employee donations to any 501(c)(3) organization.

Mission

Focus

Requests for grants are submitted by employees for specific projects or programs in the following areas of interest:

• Education – emphasis on science, technology, medicine, and engineering
• Health and Welfare
• Civic and Cultural Activities

Contributions

Past grant recipients of the NEF include many local associations recommended by one or more of our employees, such as:

• Police Activities League of San Mateo County
• 2nd Harvest Food Banks of San Mateo and Santa Clara County
• City of San Carlos, Advocates for Accessible Recreation
• Redwood City Library Foundation
• Lowell High School Alumni Association
• Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Bay Area
• Community Breast Health Project
