SprayGel™ Adhesion Barrier system, a biodegradable, water-based post-operative adhesion-prevention product is designed to prevent and reduce adhesions associated with severe post-operative pain and other side effects, such as small bowel obstructions. Nektar, in partnership with Confluent Surgical, developed SprayGel™ using our Advanced PEGylation Technology. The principal components of SprayGel™ are water and our patented Hydrogel, a functionalized polyethylene glycol (PEG). SprayGel™ is expected to prevent or significantly reduce patient trauma and the costs associated with additional surgery for adhesions.
