Pharmacokinetics and Toxicology: Preclinical safety assessment plays a vital role in the seamless integration of early research to development. Our team of highly motivated, experienced and well-trained scientists have expertise in developing models to screen new entities for pharmacokinetic and toxicology profile. The group supports both the evaluation of candidates in the discovery stage and IND enabling studies, for both large and small molecules in the research pipeline.

Pharmacodynamics: Our team of dedicated scientists has expertise in various therapeutic areas which include oncology, immunotherapy, inflammation and pain, providing analysis of both large and small molecules, to support Nektar's pipeline, from preclinical stage to the early development and clinical stages. Capabilities include screening novel chemical and biological entities using various cell based (functional and receptor assays) and ex vivo assays for the identification and optimization of potential lead compounds.

Pharmaceutical Development

Analytical Development: Nektar Hyderbad is equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and cutting-edge technology to conduct complete physical and chemical characterization of APIs/ NCEs from Discovery to Phase III. The team is well versed with regulatory filings and has vast experience in documentation. The infrastructure includes advanced instruments like LC-MS-TOF, NMR, GC, and IC apart from several HPLC systems.

Bioanalytical: Our bioanalytical department features a world class laboratory equipped with highly trained personnel and high throughput equipment to support Nektar's diversified pipeline of small and large molecules from in-vitro, in-vivo studies in early research, to toxicokinetics and clinical studies in late stage clinical development. Diversified support and quality are our core values.

Process Development: Our process development team is comprised of scientists experienced in all areas of drug development, from early research (including route screening, metabolite synthesis, salt selection and polymorph screening) to tech transfer (process intensification and optimization, scale-up for GLP tox studies).

Product Development Laboratory: Our on-site product development capabilities include development of both solid oral and lyophilized parenteral dosage forms. Our state of the art facility, with an emphasis on containment and safe handling procedures, enables the development of drug products for pre-clinical and clinical evaluation.

Quality: Quality Assurance (QA) monitors the effectiveness of the Quality System and implementation of GLP and GMP procedures, assuring studies are performed in compliance with GLP principles. QA functions are governed through Standard Operating Procedures and other relevant approved procedures. Team responsibilities include quality audit of studies, processes and facility/systems to assure compliance to quality system.
